Calamar Welcomes Mark Thompson as New Director of Lender Relations
Thompson’s hiring aims to strengthen lender relationships and expand Calamar’s presence in new markets across the Midwest and Northeast.
Calamar, a real estate developer known for its extensive portfolio in commercial and Connect55+ senior living properties, is excited to announce the appointment of Mark Thompson as the Director of Lender Relations. With over 25 years of experience in financial advisory and asset management, Thompson is well-equipped to drive the company’s growth by fostering robust lender relationships and expanding into new geographical markets.
Mark Thompson’s notable achievements include managing and raising $500 million in advisory assets, a testament to his expertise in relationship building, deal syndication, and structured finance. Thompson holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University and is certified with FINRA Series 24, 7, 65, 63 (66), and 55.

Thompson’s appointment is a strategic move for Calamar as it aims to develop lender relationships in new target markets throughout the Midwest and Northeast. His extensive experience includes serving as Principal and Managing Director at Sequence Financial Specialists, where he led capital raising efforts and managed national wholesaling teams. He also brings valuable insights from his roles at Merrill Lynch, Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group, and UBS Securities LLC, where he developed key relationships within the financial community.
